Africa Trip

We left Nairobi and have flown in to Kisumu,Kenya....we are waiting on Pastor Moses and John to pick us up for our journey(almost 2 hours)by car to Mongma,Kenya...there we will stay at Pastor Moses house..

Africa Trip

This is the Kisumu International (???) Airport
Kenya is a beautiful country with beautiful people!!!

Africa Trip

Heres Ruby Post ,Trinity Chapel Media Dept., she did a great job capturing our trip on film, and she is pretty, too!!!!
Jamie your a lucky man!!

Africa Trip

We had to stop for gas, imagine that!!! John was a good driver and an awesome tour guide...As near as I can figure gas in Kenya costs about $8 gallon.

Africa Trip

I have never seen in real life anyone carrying anything on thier head like this ....until now!!

Africa Trip

In every village we drove thru ,it was like the whole town was a huge flea market...stands on both sides of the street as far as you could see!!! Look theres another lady carrying stuff on her head!!! Thats amazing!!

Africa Trip

Need I say anything more?

Africa Trip

We arrived at our destination ,Pastor Moses house,
in Mungoma ,Kenya and we met two of the sweetest young ladies in the world......they are just lke thier Dad & Mom ,which are Pastor Moses and their mom ,Violet......so sweet!!! This is ....ready for this ????........Joy and Faith...they are great kids!!We had a blast staying there..

Africa Trip

This is looking out the front door of the house. We were surrounded by corn .....and it wasnt small stalks of corn....it grows to ...like 9 ft tall !!

Africa Trip

At the rear of the house ,we find part of the food
prep area ,partly because of the heat from the stoves in use....the stoves are actually small charcoal grills that sit on the floor....by the way the food was very good!!!!

Africa Trip

We drove to the little community in which the orphans of In Jesus Global live.....they were waiting in the road just before we got to the church....they greeted us with clapping and singing and BIG smiles....it was marvelous!!!

Africa Trip

We all gathered outside the church,(we couldnt all get in the small church) and the kids sang and danced and made a lot of merriment......they are a great bunch of kids....I just wanted to hug on every one of them!!!

Africa Trip

Pastor Jonny was getting ready to go into one of the mud huts that house some of the kids. Each one of these huts will house about 10 kids along with 3 or four grandmothers....we tried to get pictures inside but was too dark...these huts are like the ones you see in Island movies....a hut made of mud with a "thatched" roof....

Africa Trip

These huts were surrounded by crops...either corn or sugar cane...we visited several huts and prayed for some of the grandmothers...

Africa Trip

Another "hut"....they are pretty amazing ...theay they are built!!!!

Africa Trip

These are rock formations near the place the kids
live..this would make a great screen saver...HuH??

Africa Trip

Filming was a bit difficult at times, but successful...

Africa Trip

These vehicles are taxis? they have padded luggage racks for seating....with a handle attached underneath the seat ,along with a foot rest on each side, most ladies ride "sidesaddle"...its the cheapest mode of public transportation in town......I don't know the population of Mongoma ,but it seems there are 10,000 bikes there.....

Africa Trip

We had to meet with the building dept.and see if we could get approval with the prints that an american had drawn up,but we have a process to go through before we get to that point......On our way in we met this gentleman in his three wheel bike....seems that he is an ex magistrate..and now practices law in Mangoma.......
Actually ...meeting with the building dept. there was much more promising than in America.....they are much less forceful

Africa Trip

This scene is at the new building site, and these guys are making
bricks....they have prepared the earth that they have dug out and made it to just the right "texture",places it in a "mold".....

Africa Trip

Once the "mud " is placed in the mold, they are moved into the
curing area for a short period of time.....they harden and actually turn "red".....This is a slow process.....there are many , many ,bricks needed for the upcoming project..(buildings).....

Africa Trip

Pastor Dave and Ruby decided to prepare the meal for the evening...they found some beef weiners...cut them up for sauerkraut and weiners...also they made barbeque beans w/ weiners

Africa Trip

Here Pastor Dave is cooking the saurkraut..... as the baked beans are simmering in the other pot......He and Ruby did a great job with what they had to work with...they were missing a coupla key ingredients.......guess which ???
